2 LTO Enforcers Dismissed Over Alleged Extortion in MIMAROPA

2 LTO Enforcers Relieved from Post Over for Extorting Motorists

Two LTO enforcers were dismissed from their posts after they were allegedly caught asking money from motorists in MIMAROPA.

Two enforcers of the Land Transportation Office in MIMAROPA have been removed from their posts over alleged extortion.

The action came after a campaign against corruption led by LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II Lacanilao in Region IV-B, also known as MIMAROPA. The operation aimed to clean up the agency and strengthen integrity in public service.

Reports showed that one of the individuals involved was a Job Order personnel who was allegedly receiving illegal payments through GCash. Because of this, Assistant Secretary Lacanilao immediately ordered the cancellation of the enforcer’s contract. The order was carried out by Acting Regional Director Atty. Wendel Dinglasan.

Another enforcer, who is a regular employee, was also caught allegedly collecting money in exchange for faster transactions. He has been suspended while a formal investigation is ongoing.

A third regular employee was also suspended for 90 days as authorities look into accusations of bribery related to plantilla positions and promotions.

The LTO leadership stressed that corruption will not be tolerated inside the agency. Officials reminded all personnel that public service must be done with honesty and respect for the law. They said anyone who abuses their position will face proper administrative and legal consequences.

The LTO is now encouraging the public to report any suspicious or illegal activities involving its employees. The agency said that public cooperation is important in helping maintain clean and fair services for everyone.

The agency hopes to rebuild trust and show its strong commitment to serving the public with transparency and accountability.
