Money Hunt Challenge Trends Among Vloggers as New Way to Help PeopleĀ

Money Hunt Challenge Trends Online, But Good Intentions Sometimes TurnĀ IntoĀ TroubleĀ

The trending Money Hunt Challenge content of a vlogger as a new way to help end up in people getting hurt.

A new type of vlog content called the money hunt challenge has been gaining attention online, with many creators saying it is their way of helping people in need.

The idea looks simple at first. A vlogger hides small amounts of cash in public places and posts clues online. Whoever finds the money gets to keep it. What starts as a blessing, however, sometimes turns into chaos.

Money Hunt Challenge

Viral videos show people running toward parked cars, walls, or sidewalks, all trying to grab hidden cash as fast as they can. In some clips, people push, trip, or even step on each other just to be first.

In one incident, two men nearly got hurt while reaching for money taped behind a poster. Thankfully, they later calmed down and settled their differences, but the situation raised concerns.

Despite the risks, many vloggers say their intentions are sincere. For them, the money hunt challenge is a way to share what little they have. Some only give out small amounts, like P200 or P300, but they believe this can already help someone buy rice, fuel, or daily needs.

One delivery rider who became a vlogger shared that he started doing this to give back after receiving help himself in the past. Even when people criticize the amount, he believes every peso matters to someone who truly needs it.

During one money hunt in Cabuyao, Laguna, people began searching just minutes after the post went live. For those who joined, finding even a small bill felt like a big relief for the day. At the same time, vloggers admit the challenge also boosts their views and followers, which helps them earn and continue giving.

Experts remind the public to be cautious. While Filipinos are naturally generous, turning poverty into content can show an unhealthy gap between those who give and those who desperately need help.
