Motorcycle Rider Behind Viral Superman Stunt Summoned by LTO to Explain Actions
The Land Transportation Office has ordered the owner and rider of a motorcycle to explain their side after a dangerous riding stunt went viral online.
Over the past few days, the video of a motorcycle rider performing what many called a Superman stunt while the motorcycle was moving on the road has caught public attention.
In the video, the rider could be seen lying face down on the seat with his body raised, imitating a flying pose while the motorcycle was in motion. Many netizens quickly reacted, pointing out how risky the act was not only for the rider but also for other people on the road.

Because of the video, the LTO issued a show cause order against both the registered owner of the motorcycle and the driver. They were instructed to appear before the agency on January 30 and explain why they should not face penalties.
The possible violations include reckless driving, failure to wear a proper helmet, and wearing improper footwear while riding.
The agency also asked the driver to explain why his license should not be suspended or canceled, saying that his actions raised concerns about his ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

While the investigation is ongoing, the motorcycle has been placed under alarm status to prevent it from being used.
The rider’s driver’s license has been temporarily suspended for 90 days. Authorities made it clear that this step is meant to protect public safety while the case is being reviewed.
LTO officials reminded motorists that roads are shared spaces, and unsafe behavior can put lives at risk. They encouraged all riders and drivers to follow traffic rules, wear proper safety gear, and think about the safety of others at all times.
