ABS-CBN actress Kaila Estrada reveals why she is not yet ready to work with her parents, and this is the reason why.
One of the best actresses of her generation is Kaila Estrada, and this is no wonder because her parents are among the best actors in the entertainment industry. Her mother is the Queen of Horror-Drama, Janice De Belen, and actor John Estrada.
As per her words, her mother lives and breathes acting, which is basically the same as her father. Both of her parents have been in the industry for decades already.
During a sit-down interview on the Ang Walang Kwentang Channel, Kaila was asked by Maris Racal whether she had ever worked with her mother, to which she said it had not happened yet. At the same time, she is not yet ready to happen.
“Hindi ko kaya,” she quipped, and added that there’s a different pressure in working with a parent. She knows her too well, including her facial expressions, and she will know if she’ll get impatient.
She expressed, “Iba yung pressure eh kapag magulang mo na yung kasama mo. I don’t even know how they do it. The ones who have worked with their parents already, hindi ko alam paano nila nagawa.”
Kaila added that she doesn’t personally know how to do it, and she can’t imagine doing it. However, she is open to the possibility, and by that time, she probably has gained more confidence already.
“At the moment, I think I’m gonna pass!” she said.
Meanwhile, she also named other actors she hopes to collaborate with, including Jodi Sta. Maria—one of her favorite artists, whom she enjoys watching in dramatic scenes and confrontation-heavy roles. She also would like to have another opportunity to work with Maricel Soriano, the Diamond Star.
