Female Netizen Warns Public About Modus of 2 Foreign Nationals

Female Netizen Posts Photo of 2 Foreign Nationals Targeting Businesses

A female netizen warned the public about the modus being used by two foreign nationals who are targeting business establishments.

Recently, Julie Ann Rudio, a Facebook user, shared photos of the two foreign nationals who allegedly victimized several business establishments using their scheme. The post quickly went viral and drew mixed reactions online.

According to her post, the two foreign nationals pretended to be regular customers inside a food establishment. They initially ordered food but later canceled after asking for items that the restaurant did not sell.

To appear legitimate, they bought a bottle of mineral water worth only a small amount. After the purchase, the two men stayed near the cashier and asked for help, saying they were looking for Philippine bills with the letter P in the serial number.

They showed a $100 bill as part of their request, which caused confusion and distracted the cashier. During this moment, they were allowed to handle the cash, pretending to count it while searching for the specific serial number.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was discovered that the suspects used a sleight-of-hand technique. One of them discreetly slipped a P1,000 bill between three fingers underneath his hand while holding other bills on top using two fingers.

Because of the distraction, the cashier did not immediately notice the missing money.

In total, around P12,500 was taken from the cash register. The incident only became clear after a careful review of the video recordings.

She urged business owners, cashiers, and staff to stay alert, avoid letting strangers handle money, and be extra cautious when dealing with unusual requests.
