19-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Assaulted by Unidentified Man in Kabankalan City
A 19-year-old college student reported a frightening experience after she was allegedly assaulted in Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City.
On early Sunday morning (January 18, 2026), the victim identified by the alias Joy was left traumatized after she was allegedly assaulted by an unidentified man.
Joy said she had just arrived from the town of Ilog. She was heading home to get her weekly supplies since she stays in a boarding house for school. After getting off the bus, she began walking toward their house, thinking it would be a normal and quiet walk.
While on the way, Joy noticed a man riding a black Baja motorcycle following her. Moments later, the situation quickly turned alarming. The suspect reportedly stopped near her, suddenly hugged her, and touched her private parts. The unexpected attack left her scared, but she did not freeze in fear.
The woman tried her best to break free. She shouted for help while struggling to escape from the suspect’s grip. Her loud cries caught attention in the area. When the suspect noticed that someone was approaching, he quickly fled the scene using his motorcycle.
Joy described the suspect as having sharp eyes and thick eyebrows. She also recalled that he was wearing a white shirt and shorts with multiple pockets. These details are now being used by authorities to help identify and locate the suspect.
The female victim showed courage by immediately filing a complaint. She expressed her determination to pursue charges so that the suspect can be held accountable and to prevent similar incidents from happening to others.
Authorities are now continuing their investigation and gathering more information related to the case. They are also reminding the public to stay alert, especially when walking alone, and to immediately report any suspicious behavior.
