Kris Bernal Breaks Silence on Fear of Being Forgotten in the Entertainment Industry
KRIS BERNAL – Kapuso actress Kris Bernal did not hold back as she bravely revealed her deepest fear about staying relevant in the ever-changing world of showbiz.
Kris Bernal recently opened up about her honest fears and realizations regarding her career in the entertainment industry, admitting that she is deeply afraid of being forgotten in showbiz.
Although Kris was last seen in a television series in 2022, she never fully disappeared from public view. She remained visible to her fans through her active presence on social media, where she continued to share moments from her personal and professional life. In an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Kris candidly explained why she chose to stay active despite taking a step back from full-time showbiz work.

According to the actress, her fear of fading from people’s memory pushed her to keep her career alive even while embracing her roles as a wife and mother. She admitted that balancing family life and work was not easy, but she made a conscious effort to remain visible whenever possible.
“Sabi ko, ‘Ayoko talagang mawala. Kaya nga kahit nu’ng nanganak ako, kahit nu’ng nabuntis ako, nanganak ako, tina-try o pa rin maging active kung kaya,’” the celebrity mom shared.
Kris also reflected on how she noticed that the types of shows she previously starred in no longer resonated the same way with audiences. This realization helped her develop a deeper understanding of how careers naturally evolve.
“Parang feel ko, tinanggap ko na lang din din na ‘A, baka ito na ‘yung time na nagla-lie low na rin ‘yung career ko, na ‘yung peak ng career ko was with Aljur, tapos ganito na ‘yung nangyayari’,” she told Tito Boy.
The actress further revealed that she could not fully explain her sudden transition from lead roles to antagonist characters. She suspected that her physical appearance, particularly her noticeably slimmer figure, may have influenced the kinds of roles being offered to her, often casting her in negative or villainous characters.
Despite these changes, Kris emphasized that she continues to feel the unwavering support of her family and loyal fans. Their encouragement has motivated her as she gradually returns to showbiz through new projects.

Kris Bernal entered the entertainment industry after winning as the Ultimate Female Survivor in the fourth season of GMA Network’s reality talent search “StarStruck” in 2006. She quickly rose to fame, starring in various Kapuso dramas such as “Koreana,” “Machete,” “Time of My Life,” “Hiram na Puso,” “Coffee Prince,” and “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko,” solidifying her place in Philippine television.
