Vice Ganda showed loyalty to his home network
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda admitted that he is interested in buying ABS-CBN, but this factor should be considered.
The comedian-host has been under the management of the Kapamilya network for many years now. His career milestones happened with ABS-CBN. With his shows as a Kapamilya, his popularity continues to soar.
When the media company faced a challenging time six years ago, Vice was one of the artists who fervently showed support for the network that had become his home for many years, and had witnessed not just his success story, but the difficult times he was able to survive as well.
In a video released by Star Cinema recently, Vice was asked some of the iconic beauty pageant questions, based on the article in Bandera.
He was asked this question: “Let’s make believe that all of a sudden you had a million dollars. What’s the first thing you would buy and why would you buy it?” His first answer to this was, “If I have a million dollars, the first thing that I would buy is ABS-CBN.”
Vice further said that he will buy ABS-CBN, and after a while, he will turn it back to its original owners.
It can be recalled that in May 2020, the media company completely lost its franchise after congressmen did not allow the renewal of its 25-year legislative franchise. After losing the franchise, major challenges came, and this has been a major blow to the company.
As a result, many employees lost their jobs, and worse, it was during the height of the pandemic. Despite the circumstances, Vice Ganda preferred to remain under ABS-CBN, even though several artists decided to transfer to other stations.
With that major change, the media company opted to go online and became a content provider. ABS-CBN programs are currently airing on various channels, including A2Z and GMA Network, were PJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, What Lies Beneath, It’s Showtime, ASAP, and TV Patrol.
