Ada PH: PAGASA Issues Latest Update About The Tropical Storm

PAGASA released the latest update about Ada PH and the areas that are under Signal No. 1.

ADA PH – PAGASA has released the latest weather information about the tropical storm and the areas that are in Signal No. 1.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest update about Tropical Storm Ada or Ada PH, with the international name Nokaen. On January 16, the weather agency released the latest information about the tropical depression at 5 PM.

Based on the latest bulletin, Ada maintains its strength while moving northwestward at 20 km/h over the sea east of Eastern Visayas. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 80 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa.

    • The southern portion of Quezon (San Narciso, Mulanay, San Francisco, San Andres, Buenavista, Catanauan, Lopez, Calauag, Guinayangan, Tagkawayan), Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate
  • Visayas
    • Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and the northern portion of Cebu (Medellin, Daanbantayan, San Remigio, City of Bogo, Tabogon) including Camotes Islands and Bantayan Islands
  • Mindanao
    • Dinagat Islands and Siargao – Bucas Grande Islands

According to the forecast, heavy rainfall and severe winds is still expected to occur in localities outside the landfall point.

Ada will move northwestward until tomorrow, January 17, then turn slowly north northwestward to northeastward by Sunday, January 18. It is forecasted to be stationary from Sunday onwards, over the sea northeast of Catanduanes. A move further westward shift may result in possible landfall over Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region.

It may weaken into a tropical depression by Tuesday and into a remnant low by Wednesday due to the effects of the surge of the northeast monsoon.
