Businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang and 21 others are facing charges after the Department of Justice (DOJ) found prima facie evidence with reasonable certainty of conviction to charge these individuals. This is related to the case of the missing sabungeros.

He faces kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping cases before three Regional Trial Courts: Lipa City in Batangas and Sta. Cruz and San Pablo in Laguna.
Ang’s co-accused in the kidnapping with homicide case are the following:

On Wednesday, the Palace, through Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro directed the authorities to make haste in serving the arrest. She stressed that the country’s law enforcement agencies are aware of their significant roles in implementing this.
The President’s directive is to implement what is provided under the law.
“Kung nandiyan na po ang warrant of arrest, mas pabilisin po ang pagtatrabaho para mapanagot ang dapat mapanagot,” Castro added. In the arrest warrant, kidnapping with homicide comes with no bail under the law due to the gravity of the crime.
The court likewise instructed law enforcement officers to strictly comply with protocols on the use of body-worn cameras during the implementation of the warrant, mandating at least one body camera and a backup recording device to properly document the arrest.
