Anne Curtis shared this sad news

Kapamilya actress-host Anne Curtis shared in a social media post on Wednesday, January 7, that her father, James E. Curtis-Smith, passed away.

Anne has come a long way since she started her career in the entertainment industry, even before becoming a teenager. At 12, she starred in her first movie, Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis, in 1997.

From that, she was given acting projects by her home network, ABS-CBN, and got her big break through the series Kampanerang Kuba in 2005.

Anne Curtis is now one of the prominent Kapamilya stars who continues to do big acting and endorsement projects.

One of the things that people loved about her was her humor, especially when she mispronounced Filipino words. Anne would just laugh at it, even if she were called “bulol.” It is because she grew up in Australia since her father is Australian.

The actress would spend several vacations with her family in Australia. She would sometimes share photos and videos of her happy memories in the said country.

However, her most recent Australia geotag in a post brought sadness. It was her announcement that her father passed away. The actress shared her father’s photos when he was young, and the most recent one.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected yet peaceful passing of our father, James E. Curtis-Smith. A true patriarch in every sense, he shaped us with strength, resilience, and a wit that will forever echo in our family. He was deeply loved, endlessly admired, and will live on in our hearts always. We will miss him dearly. – The Curtis-Smith Family,” she wrote in the caption of her post.

The actress included the song Moon River in her post. In the comment section, her social media followers showed love and support. As of this writing, Anne has not shared further details regarding the passing away of her father.
