Chavit Singson believed that Catalina Cabral did not end her life

Business tycoon Chavit Singson shared his thoughts on the controversial death of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Usec. Catalina Cabral.

Cabral was found dead several meters below a cliff along the road in Benguet. Reports stated that she intentionally jumped off the cliff. Her driver narrated that the Cabral wanted to be left alone there. His selfie with the former Usec. sitting on the cement barricade in the background even surfaced online.

However, a video of Cabral back in 2018 showed that she admitted that her biggest fear was heights. This somehow raises doubts, especially since her name was dragged into the issue of corruption due to anomalous flood control projects.

Previously, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) have already released evidence stating that Cabral intentionally ended her life.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Chavit Singson expressed his doubt about Catalina Cabral’s death. For him, it was not Cabral’s own decision.

For Singson, authorities must conduct a thorough investigation regarding Cabral’s death. He said that the former Usec. held the key to the anomalies and corruption in the government.

“Kailangang maimbestigahan ‘yan. I don’t believe na nagpakamatay ‘yon,” Singson said. He also said that, to the best of his knowledge, someone called Cabral, and that was the alleged reason why she kept coming to Kennon Road.

“Unang-una, takot sa height ‘yon. May tumawag sa kanya na pumunta doon at nagbalik-balik (sila ng kanyang driver) dahil may tumawag-tawag na ‘punta ka roon, punta ka roon,” the business tycoon said.

Chavit Singson believed that someone pushed Catalina Cabral. “Palagay ko tinulak. Ang balita ko, siya ang nakakaalam lahat ‘yong mga kalokohan,” the former governor said.

Meanwhile, an allegation surfaced regarding why Cabral visited Baguio several times. It was alleged that she was collecting payments from a contractor in Benguet.
