Stray Bullet Discovered Through Boarding House Raised Concern in Kidapawan City
A stray bullet brings fear and concern after a stray bullet was discovered to pierce a boarding house in Kidapawan City.
On Friday (January 2, 2026), residents raised concern after a after a stray bullet was discovered to have passed through one of the rooms at a boarding house in Kidapawan City. The incident was reported to the Kidapawan City Police Office.
Roxette Aguda, a boarder had had just returned to her rented room after spending the holidays away on vacation when she discovered the bullet slug.

Upon opening the door to her room, she immediately noticed damage to the structure. There were visible holes in both the roof and the wall, clear signs that a bullet had pierced through the room.
The slug was later found inside, confirming that a live round had entered the living space while no one was there.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. However, the discovery caused fear and anxiety among the other boarders staying in the same compound. Many expressed concern over their safety, especially knowing that the bullet could have seriously harmed someone if the room had been occupied at the time.

Police are currently looking into the possibility that the incident was caused by indiscriminate firing during New Year celebrations. Every year, reports of stray bullets increase due to celebratory gunfire, which often puts innocent lives at risk.
Authorities are now gathering information to determine where the bullet came from and how it ended up inside the residence. They are also assessing the situation to prevent similar incidents in the future.
