Female Customer Expresses Frustration Over Allegedly Outdated Price Tags

A female customer expressed disappointment with the staff of a convenience store after a different code was reportedly scanned instead of the item she purchased.

Recently, Jhen Balunan, a Facebook user, shared her experience about the alleged use of outdated price tags at a popular convenience store. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from netizens.

Balunan explained that she bought a giant hotdog sold as an individual item. The price tag on display clearly showed it was priced at P49. However, when the item was scanned at the cashier, a different product code was used, resulting in a total price of P79.

The scanned item description did not match what she purchased, as it referred to a smaller, cheese-flavored product, which was clearly different from the hotdog she ordered.

She tried to raise the issue calmly, thinking it might have been an honest mistake. Instead of checking again, the staff allegedly dismissed her concern and insisted that the scanned item was correct.

The staff’s response left her feeling frustrated, not only because of the higher price but also because she felt her concern was not properly addressed.

The situation became more uncomfortable due to a line of customers waiting behind them. To avoid causing a scene, her companion decided to pay the amount even though they believed it was incorrect.

Still, the experience left a bad impression, especially since the price difference could be significant for people who are budgeting carefully.

Jhen also expressed worry that other customers might have experienced the same issue, especially since there were still many stocks of the item available. What upset her most was the lack of effort to double-check the price tag and barcode, which she felt could have easily resolved the problem.
