Many Netizens Say Christmas Does Not The Same Anymore
Many netizens are wondering why Christmas in the Philippines feels different as the years go by “hindi na masyadong ramdam”
Christmas has long been known as one of the happiest seasons of the year. It is a time filled with sharing, love, and faith, especially for Filipinos who see it as a season rooted in hope and togetherness.
In the Philippines, Christmas is not just a single day but a long celebration that begins as early as September and lasts until after the Feast of the Three Kings in January.

For many years, the start of the “ber” months meant hearing familiar Christmas songs everywhere, seeing colorful lights on streets and homes, and feeling a warm excitement in the air.
Christmas trees, parols, belens, and smiling Santa figures would slowly appear, reminding everyone that the season of joy had arrived. Families would prepare early, children would count the days, and communities would come alive with simple celebrations.
Recently, Party-Matter-8180, a Reddit user, shared that Christmas does not feel the same anymore. This feeling became a topic of discussion on Reddit after one user asked why the joy of Christmas seems harder to feel now compared to the early 2000s.

According to the post, the season once brought a different kind of excitement and comfort, even before Christmas Day arrived.
Many people shared similar thoughts. Some said adulthood, responsibilities, and financial pressure changed how they experience the holidays. Others felt that the season has become more rushed and commercial, leaving little space to truly enjoy its meaning.
A few shared that personal struggles and losses also affect how they feel during this time.
Psychology offers an explanation for this shared experience. Mental health experts refer to this as holiday blues, a condition marked by feelings of sadness, loneliness, or stress that often appear during the holiday season. It usually starts around November or December and fades after the New Year.
Tanong lang, bakit parang hindi na masyadong ramdam ang PASKO ngayon?

Despite these feelings, many still believe that the heart of Christmas remains the same.
