On his Facebook page, Joel shared a photo showing his shaved head and facial hair, a visible sign of the physical toll of his treatment. Along with the image, he wrote the caption, “God never allows pain without a purpose.” The post quickly gained traction, prompting an outpouring of sympathy and encouragement from netizens who expressed their support and promised to pray for his recovery.

However, amid the messages of concern, a basher surfaced and made a controversial remark, suggesting that Joel’s illness was karma following his separation from his former wife, Grace Mondina. The netizen went further, claiming that Joel should apologize to his “real family,” whom the commenter accused him of hurting in the past.

“Just ask for forgiveness from your real family…nansakit ka e. Basta mnalang silang iniwan? What kind of person are you,” the netizen wrote.

Joel did not stay silent and directly responded to the accusation. In a firm but composed reply, he clarified his side of the story and defended himself against the claims.

“FYI, i didnt leave my kid. I pay child support every single month. We talk every single day.

“Not all relationships work, and staying in one that doesn’t isn’t always the answer.

“I’ve rebuilt my life, I’m happily married, my kids from both marriages are part of my life, and we’ve moved on. It’s time for you to do the same,” he said.
