Vice Ganda Shares His Christmas Party Trauma When He Was A Student

Vice Ganda shared this unforgettable experience that happened during the holiday season

Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda reminisced and shared stories about his childhood, especially when he was still a student, when he experienced “trauma” because of a Christmas Party.

Vice came from a humble beginning. He also had a normal childhood that many Filipino kids went through, especially since he did not come from a well-off family.

Just like many kids, the comedian-host also experienced being part of Christmas parties in school during his days as a student. During the recent episode of the “Laro Laro Pick” segment of It’s Showtime, which featured stall owners and sellers as players, Vice talked about school Christmas parties, based on the article in Bandera.

Vice Ganda had a throwback to a traumatic experience when he was still a student. He shared that this was the time in his life when he didn’t look forward to the Christmas party because of the pressure of preparing a present for the “exchange gifts.”

May point ng life ko dati na traumatic sa akin ‘yang mga Christmas party. Kasi may exchange gift. Hindi naman lahat ng times mayroon akong pang-exchange gift,” the noontime show host.

The comedian-host admitted that it was awkward for him because his classmates could easily guess the contents of the gift. “Tapos ang mga exchange gift mo alam na ng kaklase mo kung anong laman, kung sabon. ‘Pag binalot mo ‘yun, alam pa rin nilang sabon, ‘Ay sabon na naman yan!’ Tapos minsan wala,” he revealed.

Vice also couldn’t help but compare it to the pressure at school when there are monetary contributions. He said that one feels nervous thinking that in the contribution, he or she can’t give anything.

The comedian-host even stressed that during roll call, it was worse when you don’t have money to pay. He said that this was indeed embarrassing. For him, it is the same feeling as during a Christmas party when you don’t have a gift to exchange.

From his personal experience, Vice Ganda empathized with Joy, one of the players in the solo parent segment. The comedian-host understood how much it warmed the hearts of parents to be able to provide for the needs and dreams of their children, especially during the holiday season.
