Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Releases Statement after Plunder Charges Filed against her
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President issued a statement after multiple complaints were recently filed against her and 15 Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Department of Education (DepEd) officials.
Currently, several officials in the government are accused of alleged corruption. Vice Pres. Duterte is one of those who remain questioned over the public funds with the alleged misuse of the P625 confidential funds of the OVP and the DepEd under her lead.
Since the confidential funds issue broke out, the Office of the Vice President has stopped including the said type of fund in its budget request every year. The House of Representatives also once again sliced the proposed fund of the OVP with the non-appearance of the Vice President in the chamber’s hearings.
Recently, multiple complaints including plunder charges were filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and 15 officials of the OVP and the DepEd before the Office of the Ombudsman. The complainants include civil society leaders.

Recently, after multiple complaints were filed against her and 15 officials of the OVP and DepEd, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued a statement. In her message, the Vice President recalled the alleged move of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability last year which she tagged as a “full blown fishing expedition” to allegedly search for grounds that could lead to her impeachment.
“Then came the revelation that signatures for my impeachment were being courted in exchange for budget allocations. Several lawmakers themselves recently confirmed how the constitutional process was being cheapened and reduced to a marketplace,” she stated.
Following the recent filing of multiple complaints against her, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that “another fishing expedition” is allegedly being launched. She calls on the Filipinos to critical.
“Maging mapanuri at huwag basta magpapadala sa mga paninira. Hindi ito tungkol sa paghahanap ng katotohanan — ito ay tungkol sa pagtakip ng nakawan sa kaban ng bayan na hanggang ngayon ay walang nananagot,” the Vice President said.
In her statement, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the Filipinos to continue being strong despite the alleged collapsing of the country’s economy and the supposed non-stop increase in the prices of goods.
“Patuloy lamang tayong maging matatag sa harap ng pagbagsak ng ekonomiya at walang tigil na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin. Patuloy tayong magdasal para sa kapayapaan,” Duterte stated.
Recently, amid the many issues in the Philippine government, a self-proclaimed “bagman” of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte made claims against her.
