Vice Ganda talked about working with Nadine Lustre
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda said that he was “nahihiya” to award-winning actress Nadine Lustre.
Vice and Nadine worked together in the movie Call Me Mother, one of the official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025. The comedian-host has done several movies for the film festival.
For the past few years, Vice has done comedy movies. Last year, he had a drama-comedy movie titled And The Breadwinner Is. This year, he had an acting showdown with Nadine.
Based on the article in Bandera, Vice Ganda said that drama and making people cry in movies is not really his comfort zone.
That’s why he is grateful to the artists he works with in this movie, because aside from being talented, they are generous in sharing their knowledge and experience when it comes to acting, just like Nadine Lustre.
Vice and Nadine had worked together in movies three times. “Positive, kasi kapag gumagawa ng dramatic scenes hindi siya ang strength ko, hindi siya ang comfort ko and bago pa siya sa akin so kapag nagkaroon ako ng katuwang sa eksena na katulad ni Nadine na mahusay, malaking tulong iyon sa akin,” the Unkabogable Star admitted.
Vice also has a special shoutout for Eugene Domingo and Gladys Reyes, whom he has also worked with in the past. He shared that these artists are really good. Looking at them, Vice said that even though they are doing nothing yet, one can already feel the emotion from them.
“Khit ang tagal mo maginternalize wala kang mahugot pero kapag kaharap mo sila biglang may lumalabas sa iyo,” he shared. He also admitted that he felt pressured because of the acting caliber of his co-stars, especially Nadine.
“Nakaka-pressure kasi ang dami niyang Best Actress awards and paano ito kasi Ate niya ako on and off cam kaya nakakahiya,” the comedian-host said. Vice Ganda also said that he felt that he needed to prove to himself that he can be on their level.
However, his self-doubt disappeared because of the support he received from Nadine. He said that maybe the actress has not noticed the positive effect that she has on him during their scenes.
