Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Calls on Filipinos To Pray for Better Year in 2026
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reminded the Filipinos to be strong and hopeful despite the issues in the Philippines this Christmas.
There are a lot of issues in the Philippines now including the supposed massive multi-billion flood control corruption. Several congressmen and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and some senators and former senators were tagged in the flood control mess.
The supposed multi-billion flood control corruption led thousands of Filipinos to the streets for the “Trillion Peso Marchs”. The action protest against corruption was held last September 21 and November 30.
Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed to bring the flood control issue to conclusion as he was the one who initiated it. He also promised that more individuals who are guilty in the flood control corruption will be jailed before Christmas.
Marcos Jr. also warned all the individuals who will help those accused in the flood control corruption that they might face charges if they will help the accused. Arrest warrants have been released against some individuals including Zaldy Co.
However, amid the flood control allegations against Zaldy Co, the resigned chairman of the House Budget Appropriations Committee, he tagged Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to the supposed budget insertion issue and “kickback” system.
Recently, amid the many issues in the Philippines including the supposed massive multi-billion flood control corruption, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte gave a message for the Filipino people this Christmas season. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the Vice President is currently in The Hague, Netherlands.
“Malungkot ang Pasko natin dahin hindi natin gusto ang nangyayari sa ating bansa lalong-lalo na ‘yung mga eskandalo sa korupsyon at pang-aabuso sa posisyon at opisina ng gobyerno,” Duterte said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also called on the Filipinos to be strong. Based on the post, she also claimed that we should spend Christmas with hopeful hearts.
“Kailangan nating maging matatag. As Filipinos, we are known to be resilient kaya kailangan nating itawid itong Pasko na ito na merong pag-asa sa ating mga puso… Ipagdasal natin na mas maganda ang ating taong 2026,“ the Vice President said.
