19-Year-Old Market Porter Impresses as a News Reporter
A 19-year-old market porter from Divisoria has impressed the netizens after confidently acting as a news reporter in front of the camera.
On a noisy and crowded Tuesday night (December 2, 2025) in Divisoria, ABS-CBN reporter Jessie Tenorio Cruzat was preparing for a live segment when a familiar face approached him. It was Christian Tee, a young man who works as a “Boy Buhat,” helping vendors and shoppers carry their goods around the busy market.
Cruzat shared that earlier that day, Tee had already shown interest in their work. He asked about the microphone they were using and even chatted with them several times. Later that night, Tee returned with a simple request that he wanted to be filmed using his own cellphone while holding the news microphone.

Cruzat jokingly suggested that he try reporting instead, and to his surprise, Tee took the idea seriously. Although clearly nervous, Tee gave it a shot. With a bit of guidance on breathing and facing the camera, he delivered his own short report.
His steady voice, straight gaze, and natural hand movements impressed everyone watching.
Tee shared that he only studied until Grade 8 before stopping due to financial struggles. He now works daily in Divisoria to support his eight-month-old child who lives in Nueva Ecija with the baby’s mother.

His determination moved Cruzat, who later said he understood why the young man never stops working hard.
Someone called Tee for his next task. He quickly said goodbye, returned the microphone, and went back to carrying goods, leaving behind the scene but holding onto his dream of becoming a reporter someday.
