ABS-CBN actress Kim Chiu filed a complaint against her sister, Lakam, and here’s what she said when asked about coping up.

In a previous article, ABS-CBN actress Kim Chiu sued her sister, Lakam Chiu. Filipinos expressed sympathy for Kim after she filed a qualified theft complaint upon learning “substantial amounts connected to my business assets were found missing.”

According to her, all ways to resolve the issues internally were exhausted, and it appeared that filing a formal complaint was the last resort she had. Xylene Dolor, one of Kim’s legal counsels, said that the qualified theft complaint covers the current fiscal year.

Lakam is part of the management of the business, and based on a statement, this was a hard decision to make for Kim, and she had to make it to ensure transparency, accountability, and to protect her company.

“After careful consideration and months of internal review, I have made the difficult decision to file a legal case for qualified theft against my sister, Lakambini Chiu, in relation to serious financial discrepancies discovered within my business operations,” she said.

She added that this is one of the most painful steps she has ever taken in her life. The legal action was also made to protect her company and the people who work with her.

Offcam, ABS-CBN was able to talk to her, and after filing the complaint, she only had two words to say, “Sobrang bigat.”

Filipinos are generally known for their strong family-oriented values, but in the case of Kim, and in knowing how generous she is to others, especially to her family, they understood the step she had to take against her sister. After all, the involvement was the money she had worked hard for many years.
