Robin Padilla Chooses Daniel Padilla as the Next Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema
DANIEL PADILLA – Action icon Robin Padilla has made it clear that the future of the Bad Boy throne is secured—and Daniel Padilla is his chosen successor.
Filipino moviegoers can look forward to the highly anticipated return of Sen. Robin Padilla to the big screen as “Bad Boy 3” from Viva Films gears up for its release. The celebrated action icon, widely recognized as the Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema, enthusiastically shared the news that the third installment of his blockbuster hit “Bad Boy” is officially on its way.
The senator recently spoke with BANDERA and a select group of entertainment reporters during the signing of his new contract with Viva Films, where he was joined by Boss Vic del Rosario and Vincent del Rosario. The multi-project deal covers five titles slated to premiere not only in theaters but also across multiple viewing platforms, including streaming sites and free television.

One of the highlights of the partnership is “Bad Boy 3,” which will soon be streaming on Netflix. In addition, several of Robin’s earlier works will be made available on the platform, such as “Bonifacio, Ang Unang Pangulo,” “Sa Ngalan ng Ama,” “Ina at Anak,” “10,000 Hours,” “Turn: My Pledge of Love,” and “Alab ng Lahi.”
His manager, Betchay Vidanes, revealed that “Bad Boy 4” is already being planned, and this upcoming installment will finally see Robin working alongside his nephew, Daniel Padilla. The senator confirmed that Daniel is his chosen successor to the legendary title of “The Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema,” especially after showcasing his action skills as the “Action Prince” in ABS-CBN’s acclaimed project “Incognito.”
“Kay Daniel ko siyempre gusto pamana… Gumawa siya Incognito, may chance na ngayon,” Robin explained.
He also pointed out that Daniel naturally possesses the attitude befitting the role. “Natural angas sa kanya. Dapat natural, eh. Kapag inutos lang kasi ng direktor, medyo may kalungkutan yun,” he noted.

Robin went on to recount the lineage of the Bad Boy title, narrating how it was originally held by Jose Padilla Jr., then passed to former President Joseph Estrada, later to Ace Vergel, and eventually to him. He shared the memorable encounter with Ace at the Viva gate: “Hindi ko makakalimutan yun… Sige ikaw na bad boy!”
With this, Robin expressed his hope that when the time comes, the mantle will be passed in the same meaningful way. “Gusto ko kapag dumating yung panahon, kung sino maging Bad Boy, may eksena na ipapasa ko. Ganu’n yun, di ba?”
