Richard Gutierrez looked forward to portraying this character
Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez quipped that a horrific character that he could portray in his future project is being a “contractor.”
Richard continues to play different roles on TV and in movies. He received praise for his previous TV series, the action-drama genre titled Incognito. In this project, he worked with Daniel Padilla, Ian Veneracion, Baron Geisler, Kaila Estrada, and Maris Racal.
His most recent acting project is the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 movie Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins with Kapamilya actress Ivana Alawi.
Previously, Richard shared that he was so excited for this film, as it is his first time working with Ivana. The actor also defended his movie’s leading lady against the rumor that she caused a delay in their shooting.
In a recent media conference for the horror film, based on the article by entertainment writer Jun Lalin in Abante, the cast members were asked who the evil character they wanted to portray.
“Isang horrific character? Ah, siguro gusto kong maging isang contractor. Hahaha, joke lang!” Richard quipped. Lalin shared that the actor’s answer amused the members of the media.
“Grabe ang palakpakan, sigawan sa hirit na iyon ni Richard tungkol sa mga korap na kontraktor, na damay rin ang ibang mga tao sa gobyerno at politicians,” the entertainment writer shared.
During the event, Richard, together with actresses Manilyn Reynes and Carla Abellana, revealed the official poster of Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Richard Gutierrez shared his thoughts on the corruption issue in the Philippines, particularly regarding the anomalous flood control projects. He shared a statement from his favorite singer, Bob Marley, which was, “You will never find justice in a world where criminals make the rules.”
