DLSU Students Holds Protest Against Corruption in the Country

DLSU students in Taft, Manila staged a walkout as a show of unity against issues of corruption in the country.

On Friday (November 21, 2025), numerous students from De La Salle University in Taft, Manila stage walkout to protest corruption. The walkout took place during class hours, with students leaving their classrooms to join the organized activity inside and outside the campus.

The action was inspired by the National Day of Walkout led by student councils from different universities that are part of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

The movement encouraged young people to raise their voices and call for leadership that is honest and accountable. Reports shared by The Animo, the official campus publication of DLSU Senior High School, stated that around 60 to 80 students joined the walkout at the Taft campus.

Videos shared online showed students marching around the campus while wearing black shirts and carrying placards with messages expressing their frustrations about widespread corruption.

The group Lasallians Against Corruption led the activity and shared on their page that the walkout was a stand against the misuse of public funds and the lack of accountability from government officials. The group is composed of students not only from De La Salle University but also from the College of Saint Benilde.

The activity began at around 11:30 a.m. and continued with a short program held outside the DLSU gate. Students delivered speeches, shared personal views, and showed their support for clean and transparent governance.

By 1:30 p.m., the program concluded, but several participants continued their protest by marching toward Mendiola. There, they joined students from other UAAP universities who also walked out in support of the national call.

For the students who took part, the walkout was not just an event but a reflection of their hope for a country where government service is honest, responsible, and mindful of the people it serves.
