Prison Facility is Prepared for Former Mayor Alice Guo, BuCor Says
The Bureau of Corrections has ensured that the prison facility is ready for former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
The agency has confirmed that the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City is fully prepared to receive former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment for qualified human trafficking.
According to BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., the facility has strengthened its security measures ahead of her arrival to ensure proper handling of the high-profile inmate.
Additional Corrections Emergency Response Team personnel have been deployed, and the entire staff of the institution has been placed on standby since Thursday. This aims to make sure that operations run smoothly and that all required procedures are followed once Guo arrives.
As with all inmates entering the facility, Guo will undergo the standard admission process. This includes verification of her documents and personal belongings, followed by a five-day quarantine period.
Guo will also be given a complete medical examination to assess her current physical condition. These steps are routine for every new detainee as part of CIW’s protocol.
After the initial screening, Guo will be transferred to the regular dormitory of the Reception and Diagnostic Center for a 60-day assessment. During this time, specialists will evaluate her physical and psychological needs.
The results will guide the creation of a personalized rehabilitation plan, which forms part of the Bureau’s approach to managing inmates and helping them adjust to their new environment.
Once the assessment period is completed, Guo will be moved to the Maximum Security Camp. This is a standard procedure for inmates serving long-term sentences, particularly those involving serious offenses.
The BuCor emphasized that every step taken follows established guidelines to maintain order, safety, and proper inmate management.
The agency assured that Guo will go through the same structured processes applied to all individuals entering the facility, ensuring fairness and consistency within the institution.
