Miss Grand International 2021 Arrested for Selling Misleading Gummies
Miss Grand International 2021 winner, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, has been sentenced to two years in prison for selling gummies.
The former beauty queen has been sentenced to two years in prison following a court ruling in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She was found guilty of promoting and selling dietary fiber gummies under the name “Kera Supergreens Gummies” in a way that misled thousands of buyers.
In the investigation, the High People’s Court uncovered that she knowingly endorsed a product whose real quality did not match her public claims. Despite being aware of serious inconsistencies, she continued to promote the gummies for her personal gain.

Tests showed that the fiber content was a mere 0.935 percent, far lower than what customers would expect from a “fiber” supplement. However, the list of ingredients was unclear. Contrary to the advertisements, the gummies did not contain ten different vegetables, according to the court’s analysis.
More than 56,000 people bought the product due to aggressive marketing and her influence. The total earnings from these sales were reported to be about VND 17.5 billion, roughly equal to P39.2 million.
During the court proceedings, Tien admitted that she received a 25 percent commission from the brand for her role in promoting the gummies.

The court described the case as a major lesson on responsibility and integrity. It emphasized that promoting a health-related product while ignoring its true quality could lead to serious consequences not just for the seller, but for the many people who trusted those claims.
Alongside Tien, other individuals were also punished. Social media influencers who joined in the campaign, including Pham Quang Linh and Hang Du Muc, were also handed two-year prison terms.
