Gerald Anderson shared his experience doing a series that tackled corruption

Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson shared his thoughts on the corruption issue in the Philippines.

Gerald had his first directorial stint in the series Sins of the Father, in which he also starred. The series tackled different scams that are happening in the country.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, for the final week of the series, Gerald shared that he will miss portraying his character, Samuel, in the series because of the social awareness that the series imparts to the viewers.

Gerald Anderson said, “It’s about corruption and scams, which is very timely sa nangyayari sa bansa natin. It has been an amazing journey and I’m very grateful.”

In some of the episodes, the series was able to attack greed and corruption. The actor also shared that he has mixed emotions as the series is about to end.

He was said to be for their finale, but he is also happy that they were able to help in waking up people’s minds when it comes to corruption, scams, and other deceitful acts.

Alam naman nating lahat kung ano ang nangyayari sa bansa natin. Kumbaga, ‘yun ang fight namin, ‘yun ang paraan namin para makatulong. Na maging aware ang mga tao sa nangyayari. But ang dami kong natutunan. It has been an amazing journey. Just very grateful,” he said.

Gerald also said that the sacrifices and sufferings of many Filipinos should stop already. “Tama na! Sana magising na tayong lahat!” the actor stressed.

FM Reyes, one of the directors, agreed with what Gerald Anderson said. He that this is their little way of presenting to the public the different perspective of corruption in the lives of the people. The director emphasized that through their series, they somehow gave voice to the voiceless.
