Police Officer Lost His Life & Injured 3 Passengers After Patrol Car Crashes Into Pagsanjan Stone Arch
A police officer lost his life after the patrol car he was driving crashed into the Pagsanjan Stone Arch in Laguna.
On Saturday morning (November 15, 2025), a police officer dead and three others injured, including a drug suspect, after a patrol vehicle crashed into the Pagsanjan Stone Arch, Laguna.
The victim, PSSg. Aldwin Jamilla, was rushed to Unson General Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The other passengers—Patrolman Jann Erwin Velarde, Patrolman Rustom Pacilona, and suspect Ivan Nikko Delos Santos, 35, sustained injuries and were brought to the Laguna Medical Center in Sta. Cruz for treatment.

According to the initial investigation, the officers had just come from the Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Paciano Rizal in Sta. Cruz. They had submitted the arrested suspect and the seized evidence following a buy-bust operation conducted on the evening of November 15.
After completing the procedure, the team began their trip back to the Pagsanjan Police Station at around 5:20 a.m.
While traveling along the highway, the patrol vehicle approached the Pagsanjan Stone Arch. At that moment, an unidentified motorcycle suddenly swerved into the center lane from the opposite direction, heading toward Sta. Cruz.
In an attempt to avoid a collision, Velarde reportedly steered the vehicle to the left. However, the abrupt maneuver caused him to lose control, sending the patrol car crashing into the middle portion of the stone arch.
The front end of the Toyota Hilux was completely wrecked, and everyone inside sustained injuries from the strong impact. Responders arrived quickly, but the damage was severe, especially for Jamilla.
Authorities are now working to identify the motorcycle rider who immediately fled after the incident. Investigators believe the rider’s reckless movement triggered the crash, and locating the individual is now a priority as the police continue to gather more details surrounding the case.
