2 Minors Suffered Injuries After Getting Caught in Sampaloc Riot
Two minors were injured after getting caught in a clash between two groups of young people along Instruccion Street in Barangay 520, Sampaloc, Manila.
Around 8 p.m. on Thursday (November 13, 2025), the fight started from nothing more than hostile looks exchanged between the two groups, according to Barangay Kagawad Donna Majayjay. The simple encounter leads into intense confrontation.
CCTV footage showed four teenage friends walking home when they crossed paths with two other teens. A few moments later, the four boys were seen running as the other two chased after them.

The situation worsened when three more boys joined the aggressors, and one of them even smashed a bottle, escalating the danger.
A 16-year-old boy suffered a cut on his shoulder after being struck with a broken bottle. His 15-year-old companion also got injured when he stepped on shattered glass while trying to escape. Residents nearby were disturbed by the violent altercation.
Barangay officials shared that before the incident, the same group of troublemakers had already been caught carrying a knife. Police confiscated the weapon, yet the group still managed to cause trouble later that evening.
Kagawad Majayjay added that youth riots have become a recurring concern in their area. Many of the teens involved often share similar stories about coming from single-parent or broken families, leaving them without proper guidance at home.
Because they are still minors, their parents remain accountable for their actions.
The barangay assured that they are ready to provide counseling and work with the DSWD to help the young individuals involved. Since all parties eventually settled the matter, no formal charges were filed.
Officials hope that continued guidance and intervention can prevent similar incidents in the future.
