The daughter of Juan Ponce Enrile shares an update about him.
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile is still in the ICU, his daughter, Katrina Ponce Enrile, revealed.
Senator Jinggoy Estrada revealed on Tuesday, during a Senate session, that Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile has been admitted to the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. Estrada added that Enrile has a slim chance of surviving.
He said, “I have just received a very, very sad information that our former colleague, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is currently in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital suffering from pneumonia. And I heard from a reliable source, very, very reliable source that he has slim chances of surviving.”
Previously, Ramon Tulfo clarified Enrile is still alive and revealed that a document retrieved from the Aglipayan church in Cagayan showed that he was actually born on June 22, 1922. This means he is now 103 years old.
Recently, in an update from his daughter, Katrina Ponce Enrile, the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel is still in the ICU under the care of dedicated physicians. He is still being treated for pneumonia, and the best possible treatment and attention are being given to him.
“We are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers, and support extended to our family during this time. Thank you very much,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, amid the health battle of Enrile, several Facebook posts falsely claimed that he had passed away. The last public appearance of Enrile was on October 24, when he was acquitted of his plunder and graft cases. He attended the Sandiganbayan court proceedings remotely, and he appeared frail and bedridden. He had a tube inserted in his nostril.
