“But we are very, very sorry.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also explained that the local government officials prepared for a storm surge but it was a flash flood that happened. He also stressed that most of the damages is due to flood and not because of the strong winds brought by Typhoon Tino.

“Ang sinasabi sa atin, ang pinaghahandaan ng mga LGU officials was a storm surge. ‘Yung papasok galing sa dagat. Pero ang talagang nangyari, flash flood naman. Iba ‘yung nangyari.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed that the government will help the victims of Typhoon Tino. P5,000 cash assistance will be given to each family whose houses were partially damaged and P10,000 for those that are completely-damaged.

Several government officials reacted to the devastation in Cebu. Senator Lito Lapid expressed his sympathy to the victims of Typhoon Tino in Cebu.
