Maris Racal and Baron Geisler had this controversial scene in ‘Batang Quiapo’
Kapamilya stars Maris Racal and Baron Geisler admitted that they felt awkward filming their hotel room scene in the action-drama series Batang Quiapo.
Maris and Baron are among the current cast members of the Kapamilya primetime series with actor-director Coco Martin as the lead star.
In one of the recent episodes, Maris and Baron had a controversial scene that somehow garnered negative reactions from the online community.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Maris Racal and Baron Geisler talked about their hotel room scene. Maris plays the character of policewoman Paula âPonggayâ Garcia, while Baron’s character is the corrupt project contractor Rockyboy Mondragon.
In the scene, Rockyboy was trying to assault Ponggay, but the latter fought back. They had their fight scene inside the hotel room. During filming, Maris accidentally hit Baron’s face. The actress admitted that it was awkward since she considers the actor her brother. They worked together in Incognito before this project.
Baron said that in this scene, Ponggay’s strength was highlighted because she was able to fight back even though he was much bigger and stronger.
âBut itâs okay, ganoon naman âyong buhay ng aktor. Kailangan mong tanggalin âyong awkwardness sa air, or else magiging half-baked âyong scene,â Maris Racal said.
Baron Geisler added that they had requests, and their director, Richard Somes, entertained these. They had a “blast” working with the people on set.
The actor also shared that even though what they did was an intense scene, he and Maris could not help after every take. They would quip at each other if they were doing comedy and not an action scene. During the interview, Baron was still wearing his wrestling costume, which he wore in the scene, while Maris was wearing her angel wings.
