According to the residents in Cebu, the water level rose fast. The dams reportedly overflowed due to the heavy rainfall and it led to massive flooding in some cities in the province. Several families were left homeless by Typhoon Tino.

Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro lamented the deadly flooding amid the P26 billion flood control funds for the province. According to her, most of the flood control projects in the province since 2019 are supposedly either ghost projects or made of substandard materials.

Recently, Malacañang reacted to the remarks of Cebu Gov. Pam Baricuatro who is angry that despite the P26 billion flood control funds for the province, they were still heavily-flooded amid the wrath of Typhoon Tino. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, it is the reason why Marcos Jr. ordered for the investigation of the flood control projects of the government.

“‘Yan po ang dahilan kung bakit po nagpapaimbestiga ang Pres. Marcos Jr.,” the Malacañang official said.

Furthermore, based on a post of News5 on social media, Malacañang press officer Atty. Claire Castro also stressed that if Cebu Gov. Pam Baricuatro is angry over the massive flooding in her province, Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly feels the same.

“Kung siya man po ay nagagalit, ‘yan din po ang nararamdaman ni Pres. Marcos Jr… Pagtulong-tulongan po nating mahanap ang dapat na mapanagot sa mga maanomalyang flood control projects,” the Malacañang press official said.

Following the tragic wrath of the recent typhoon, Pres. Bongbong Marcos declared a state of national calamity due to Typhoon Tino as well as the upcoming typhoon “Uwan”.
