Michelin Guide Philippines – 9 Restaurants Receive Much-Coveted Rating

Here’s the Michelin Guide Philippines — your gateway to an exceptional gastronomic experience.

MICHELIN GUIDE PHILIPPINES – It has officially arrived in the Philippines’ dining scene, and these are the nine restaurants that received ratings.

The Philippines is finally on the global gastronomic map as the Michelin Guide is now here in the country to recognize excellent culinary experiences. To recall, anonymous inspectors arrived in the Philippines in February and began their culinary journey for the highly anticipated 2026 selection.

Since its inception, Michelin has stayed true to its mission and that is guiding international travelers and local food enthusiasts to the finest restaurants, celebrating the world’s diverse culinary landscapes, and promoting a culture of travel and discovery.

The inspectors are anonymous professionals bound to discover the best places in the culinary world. It emphasized that inspectors “always pay their bill to ensure an unbiased customer experience.”

The Michelin Guide’s universal criteria:

  • Quality of ingredients
  • Mastery of cooking techniques
  • Harmony of flavors
  • Expression of the chef’s personality in the cuisine
  • Consistency across the entire menu

Michelin stars mean:

  • One Michelin Star: High-quality cooking, worth a stop
  • Two Michelin Stars: Excellent cooking, worth a detour
  • Three Michelin Stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey

The Michelin Bib Gourmand award is for restaurants that offer “a three-course meal at a reasonable price.”

In the Philippines, Helm got a 2-star rating, which is a first in the Philippines. This is led by Chef Josh Boutwood, and they are known for serving cerebral tasting menus that give flavor to technique, memory, and restraint.

Gwendal Poullenec, international director of the Michelin Guides, spoke at the inaugural ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Manila Marriott Hotel. He said, “What we discovered was nothing short of extraordinary. What sets the Philippines apart is the new generation of chefs. Many are under 30 year olds. Tonight we celebrate the passionate chefs and teams whose talents have placed the Philippines on the global culinary map.”
