For his own peace, actor Raymart Santiago breaks his silence following the claims of Mommy Inday in an interview.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Inday Barretto, Claudine Barretto’s mother, revealed the hardships her daughter went through while Raymart Santiago was still her husband. She was emotional and accused the actor of abusing Claudine, then left her when she was no longer in her prime.
The Barretto matriarch detailed the alleged years of suffering endured by her daughter. Inday also issued a warning to Santiago’s current partner, actress Jodi Sta. Maria.
In a previous article, Raymart denied the accusations through his legal team. He asserted that he has become the target of a ‘trial by publicity’ campaign led by Inday and Claudine, aimed at painting his reputation badly. Raymart’s team revealed that the root of the conflict involves a conjugal property that Claudine allegedly sold three years ago without Raymart’s knowledge or consent.
Recently, after many years of silence, the actor broke the silence for his own peace of mind. He was accordingly torn between giving a personal reaction and not doing so, but after hearing the narratives being passed around on social media about him, he decided to respond in defense.
“Kahit mas matimbang sa akin na manahimik na lang, siguro ay kailangan ko rin ilabas kahit paano ang aking saloobin para sa aking kapayapaan,” he wrote. He expressed that in the past 15 years, he maintained his silence and chose the proper venue to handle matters.
He had tried hard to protect his name and reputation, but it has become hard because of the lies and false stories being spread online about him. Raymart shared that he was deeply hurt by the ongoing situation and by how words have been turned against him.
“Hindi kaila sa akin ang paninira at nakasusuklam na akusasyon ni Mommy Inday, ang taong nirespeto, minahal at itinuring kong pangalawang ina,” he added. He just couldn’t understand how someone turned differently and he couldn’t fathom how one could do such damage to another person’s character.
He could only hope that people would stop spreading false stories, as it not only affects him but also his children with Claudine.
