Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos Anew
CHAVIT SINGSON – Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, the former Ilocos Sur Governor called for the resignation of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The supposed flood control corruption in the Philippines did not allegedly involve millions but billions of government funds. Several government officials were also tagged in the issue. Some of them were invited by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure for the flood control investigation.

The ICI, an independent body that was formed to probe the infrastructure projects of the government, was formed upon the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It is a three-member body that is led by former Supreme Court Justice Andres Reyes Jr.
The commission is armed with broad powers including the authority to issue a subpoena as well as the power to move for the seizure of assets that are linked in anomalies. However, despite ordering the flood control probe, there are allegations that the investigation will allegedly lead to the doorsteps of Malacañang.

Amid the accusations, Marcos Jr. previously expressed his confidence that the flood control issue will not get to his office. Amid his cousin, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez being accused of alleged flood control corruption, the President claimed that neither Romualdez nor his allies will be spared from the flood control probe.

Presidential cousin and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House speaker amid the flood control allegations. He previously responded to the invitation of the ICI for the probe and appeared before the commission.
Previously, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson claimed that the flood control probe should start in Ilocos Norte, the bailiwick of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to him, the Discayas allegedly have several projects in the hometown of the President.

Recently, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson called for the resignation of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the former Ilocos Sur Governor stressed that the issue is allegedly within the command responsibility of the President.
“Kung may delicadeza siya, dapat mag-resign siya. Dahil… it’s his command responsibility. Lahat ng gulong ito nanggaling sa mga tao niya eh,” Singson said on One News’ “The Long Take”.
Furthermore, Chavit Singson who endorsed Pres. Bongbong Marcos in 2022 claimed that the youth allegedly has no future already. Based on the post, he reiterated that Marcos Jr. allegedly should resign out of “delicadeza”.
“The only way, for delicadeza, mag-resign dahil wala nang kinabukasan ang mga kabataan. Tuloy-tuloy ‘to, takipan,” he said.
Previously, Chavit Singson seemingly crossed the line in his remarks against Marcos as the Palace called on the authorities to investigate his statements.
