The Team Philippines Kuys Showtime is composed of Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, JC De Vera, Johannes Rissler, David Licauco, Dustin Yu, River Joseph, Billy Crawford, and others, while the Team Korea Rising Eagles featured K-pop stars Minho of SHINee, Jeong Jinwoon of 2AM, and Johnny of NCT.

Team Philippines, in an interview, admitted that they never expected the opposing team to take the exhibition game seriously and competitively. Hilario shared, “Nagulat kami kasi ang lalaki ng kalaban namin. Hindi namin in-expect ganoon sila ka-seryoso. Sobrang seryoso pala…Pero dugong Pinoy kaya natin lumaban kahit malaki sila.”

Licauco recalled also that they were “super serious,” and upon seeing them, they also took it upon themselves to take the game with the same level of seriousness. The Kapuso star also expressed that it turned out to be really physical. All the while, they thought that it would be just for fun.

He said, joking around, “It was a very, very physical game. I thought it would just be for fun. Akala ko nga FIBA games.”

Despite the game that got physical, they still enjoyed. Yu expressed that heated and intense moments are normal in every basketball game, but what mattered most was that everyone remained sport.

Licauco shared that he was initially intimidated, but found pleasure in being able to play with the Korean stars.

Meanwhile, Navarro, the team captain, was proud of his team and their performance despite their limited training.

“Nahirapan kami makabuo ng sched. Natuwa ako kahit ‘di kami naka-practice, ‘yung pinakita ‘yung game natin hindi tayo nagpahuli.  What more if naka practice pa talaga may time, baka mas maganda laban,” he noted.
