Senate Pres. Tito Sotto Bares Wealth amid Flood Corruption Issues in PH
TITO SOTTO – The Senate President declared a net worth of P188 million as of June 30, 2025 based on his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).
Some government officials recently released their SALNs after Ombudsman Boying Remulla reopened the SALN of the government officials for public access. The country chief graft-buster reversed the 2020 circular that placed restrictions under the lead of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
Based on the memorandum released by the Office of the Ombudsman, the consent of the owner of the SALN is no longer needed in the request. The requester just have to present a valid ID.
The Ombudsman is the repository of the SALNs of the president, the vice president, the officials of the Constitutional Commissions, and the local government officials. In the memo, Remulla stressed embodying the principle that “Public office is a public trust” as stated in the Constitution.
Some senators willingly disclosed their SALNs following the lifting of the restrictions in accessing the SALNs of the government officials before the Ombudsman. Recently, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto joined the list of lawmakers who disclosed their wealth.
Senate Pres. Tito Sotto declared a net worth of over P188 million as of June 30, 2025 based on his latest Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sotto III declared assets worth P465, 604,461.40.
Out of the over P465, 000 declared assets, P335, 171,748.25 of which are real properties while P130,432,713.15 are personal properties. With regards to his liabilities, the Senate President listed P276,736,338.00 in bank loans/personal loans and other payables.
Furthermore, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto also listed his business interests in TVJ Productions Inc. and VST Production Specialists, Inc. Some of his family members are employees in his Senate office.
Based on the report, Senate Pres. Sotto’s daughter, Romina France G. Sotto; niece, Beverly Anne M. Sotto; Niece-in-law, Katherine Anne G. Roxas; and grand niece, Atty. Valentin Jose Dominic S. Fregil, are employees in his office in the upper legislative chamber.
Previously, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson also disclosed his SALN which showed massive growth in his net worth in just three (3) years.
