Sen. Robin Padilla Joins List of Senators Who Released this SALNs
ROBIN PADILLA – The Senator declared an over P244 million net worth in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) as of December 2024 and claimed he has no liabilities.
Ombudsman Boying Remulla recently lifted the restrictions towards public access of the SALN of government officials. His office released a memorandum that reversed the 2020 circular under then-Ombudsman Samuel Martires that required a consent from the SALN owner.
In the memo issued by his office, the principle embedded in the Constitution that “Public office is a public trust” was stated. Following the lifting of the restrictions, a requester just needs to present a valid ID to request for the disclosure of the SALN of a government official.
The Office of the Ombudsman is the repository of the SALNs of the president, the vice president, the local government officials, and the officials of the Constitutional commissions. The recent move of the country’s chief graft-buster motivated several senators for a full disclosure of their SALN.
Recently, Sen. Robin Padilla was officially included in the list of senators who released their SALN. To recall, Padilla was the first to ask the Senate Secretary for the full disclosure of his SALN after Ombudsman Boying Remulla made the changes towards the release of the said documents that are within its repository.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Robin Padilla disclosed that he declared a net worth of P244,042,908.57 in the SALN that he filed as of December 31, 2024. Out of the said total amount, P100, 504, 880 are real properties while P143,538,028.57 are personal properties.
Reportedly, the Senator claimed in his SALN that he has no liabilities. The actor-turned-politician also declared his business interests on Renting, Motion Picture Video Production and Distribution, Buying, Selling, Leasing, Operation of Dwellings and in the retail business of his wife, Mariel Padilla.
Aside from Sen. Robin Padilla, Senate Pres. Tito Sotto also recently disclosed his SALN revealing his net worth as of June 2025. Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson also issued a copy of his SALN which showed a massive growth in his net worth from 2022 to 2025.
Previously, following the move of the Ombudsman, the House of Representatives confirmed that they are ready to craft rules with regards to SALN disclosure.
