Mother Shares Experience After Her Child w/ Special Needs Went Missing While Under Supervision
A mother shared the scary experience she went through when her child with special needs went missing while under the care of a guardian.
Recently, Sheryl Andal, a Facebook user, shared the story of how the person assigned to watch over her child momentarily lost sight of them. the post quickly went viral and garnered various reactions online.
According to Sheryl, her seven-year-old daughter, Xia, who has special needs, was preparing to go to school. She was already in her uniform, wearing her hard hat, and was about to leave with the person assigned to accompany her.

However, within just one to two minutes, after the companion went back to get a forgotten envelope, Xia suddenly disappeared from sight.
Panic immediately set in. The companion searched everywhere but couldn’t find her. Sheryl, who had just arrived home from her own school where she studies Occupational Therapy, rushed out to help look for her daughter. The family was filled with worry, not knowing where Xia had gone.
Unknown to them, Xia had bravely crossed the street alone and managed to enter the school by herself. It was a very dangerous situation, especially for a young child with special needs.

Thankfully, several tricycle drivers nearby noticed her crossing alone and quickly alerted the school guard. With their help, Xia was safely brought to her teacher.
Sheryl expressed her deep gratitude that nothing bad happened. She hugged her daughter tightly, overwhelmed with relief and thankfulness to those who helped.
The woman reminded parents, especially those caring for children with special needs, that danger can happen in just a blink of an eye. Even a brief moment of distraction can lead to something serious.
