The DPWH Fire has burned no documents related to the flood control mess.
DPWH FIRE – A fire broke out at the office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Quezon City, but no documents related to the probe were damaged.
The fire incident that occurred in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) office in Quezon City on Wednesday has concerned Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla. It was just accordingly disturbing how an agency under investigation would be hit by fire.

He was thinking that this might be an attempt to conceal evidence amid the ongoing investigation into anomalous flood control projects. He has already asked the National Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Fire Protection about the matter.
“I am asking the NBI and the BFP to check if there’s arson, kung sadyang sinunog o aksidente. Madali naman malaman kung arson, pero hopefully, natural cause ‘yan. I’m sure that there are backup documents. It is a working day so people were able to save their computers, which contain the information,” Remulla said.
According to reports, no documents related to the probe regarding the flood control mess have been damaged by fire. The documents related to the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in flood control projects were stored in the Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) building in Quezon City.
According to reports, the fire started after a computer unit exploded inside the Materials Testing Division. Eventually, the fire was contained, and there were employees who sustained injuries.
“The DPWH confirms that no documents related to the ongoing investigation into the flood control anomalies were in the BRS building that caught fire,” the agency said in a statement to assure the public that all relevant records remain safe.
