Inday Barretto Opens Up on Claudine’s Alleged Abuse
INDAY BARRETTO – After years of silence, the Barretto matriarch, Inday Barretto, has come forward with explosive revelations about the alleged abuse Claudine Barretto faced from her estranged husband, Raymart Santiago.
“DO not judge the book by its cover, tinanggap ka namin nang buong-buo, ‘yung hindi mo natikman sa family mo ‘yung love.”
These were the powerful words spoken by Mommy Inday Barretto, the mother of actress Claudine Barretto, during her emotional conversation with Ogie Diaz, which premiered on his YouTube channel on October 19. The Barretto family matriarch finally opened up about the alleged abuse her daughter endured from her husband, actor Raymart Santiago.

When Ogie asked what her message to Raymart would be, Inday firmly stated, “Hindi mo nakita sa family na ordinary on how… what family we have. Sinaktan mo na ‘yung anak namin, hindi ka pa (nakuntento), ni-___ (bleep) mo pa sa harap ng masahista mo! Hindi mo alam nakita ng 4 (or) 5 years old na anak mo.”
She further claimed that Raymart took over all of Claudine’s hard-earned possessions, adding, “Tapos kinuha mo na lahat ng properties na pinaghirapan niya para sa mga anak niya… You married my daughter because she was Claudine Barretto, you dropped her when she stop being a Claudine Barretto.”
Mommy Inday shared that she and her late husband, Miguel Alvir Barretto, treated Raymart as part of their family, making his alleged mistreatment of Claudine even more painful. “We treated you like our own son-in-law but you treated my daughter a beast like an animal na sa totoo lang ikaw ang tunay na animal!” she said passionately.

Throughout the interview, she revealed distressing details about her daughter’s experiences, which she believes led Claudine to suffer from anxiety and depression. “When I saw that (napamura). I stand up, Inday Barretto gonna stand up and fight! That is what brought me here now, walang taong puwedeng magpapaluhod sa mga anak ko,” she declared.
At 89 years old, Inday said she could no longer just watch her daughter go through such pain. “Hindi ko kayang umupo lang sa wheel chair habang pinapanood ang anak, kinakatay na, pinapatay na, ninanakawan na, niluluhuran pa, hindi siya Diyos!”
When asked why she chose Ogie Diaz as the one to interview her, she explained, “I want to have a voice that I kept all the time… ikaw ang hahanapin ko kasi ang mga anak ko, suki mo na.”
She looked back on the early years of Claudine and Raymart’s relationship, describing their wedding as “one of the most beautiful weddings you’ll ever find.” But she noticed that things began to change over time. “Later on nakikita ko na hindi na siya (Claudine) happy… ibang Raymart na ang nakikita ko,” she recalled.
Inday shared that one day, she received a distressed call from Claudine pleading for help, which led her to rush to her daughter’s home. Upon arriving, she claimed to have witnessed alarming scenes, including the so-called “injection incident.” When asked who did it, she said, “Siya! Si Raymart!”

She recounted another painful moment when Claudine allegedly collapsed in her father’s arms. “He ___ (bleep) my daughter in front of pilay na masahista nila, Santino saw it!” she said tearfully.
Inday also claimed that there was an incident where Raymart allegedly “dragged Claudine like a pig to be slaughtered,” saying neighbors even witnessed the event. “Maririnig mo ‘yung sigaw ng mga tao, ‘tama na uy, tama na, tulungan n’yo (si Claudine),’” she said.
These allegations are reportedly among the reasons behind the VAWC (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004) case filed by Claudine against Raymart.
However, the actor has denied all accusations in interviews conducted in 2013.
More shocking details from Mommy Inday about Claudine and Raymart’s relationship are expected to be revealed in part two of this story.
