Female Call Center Agent Suffers Panic Attack During Powerful Earthquake in Iloilo City
A call center agent from a BPO company located in the Megaworld area of Iloilo City suffered a panic attack after a powerful earthquake struck the area.
On Wednesday morning (October 15, 2025), a call center agent in Iloilo City suffered a panic attack after a magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook the city around 6:48 a.m.
The quake had its epicenter about 13 kilometers south-southwest of Guimbal, Iloilo, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). It was recorded at Intensity IV in Iloilo City, causing many people to rush outside buildings in fear.

Local authorities and school officials quickly conducted inspections to check for any damage.
The tremor was also felt at Intensity III in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, and Intensity II in San Lorenzo, Guimaras; Iloilo City; and Bago City, Negros Occidental. Lighter tremors were reported in Culasi, Antique, and La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
Recently, a female call center agent reportedly panicked while inside their office during the powerful quake. Witnesses saw her crying uncontrollably and struggling to breathe as fear and anxiety took over.

Her coworkers immediately called for help, and she was placed on a stretcher before receiving proper medical attention.
According to her assistant manager, they were on the third floor of the building when they felt the shaking. The incident caused temporary confusion among employees, but everyone was safely evacuated as part of the company’s emergency procedures.
Authorities have since reminded the public to stay calm and follow safety protocols during earthquakes. Fortunately, no major damage or injuries were reported after the incident.
