Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President denied controlling Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga amid his anti-Marcos moves.
Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, Cavite Congressman Kiko Barzaga hooked attention for speaking against the issue and against President Bongbong Marcos. He even called for the resignation of the Chief Executive.
Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga also previously showed an alleged impeachment complaint against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. He accused the President of alleged betrayal of public trust amid the flood control issue in the country.
Last September 12, Cong. Kiko Barzaga also led the protesters in calling for the resignation of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to him, they can protest anytime as the government officials are allegedly “stealing anytime”.
Amid Cong. Kiko Barzaga getting the spotlight, there are speculations over his alleged ties with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Recently, the Vice President broke his silence on the young House lawmaker.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte denied being behind Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga. According to her, she does not control the young Congressman whom she described as a person who is allegedly hard to be controlled.
Duterte stressed that Barzaga is his own person and has his own principles. The young House solon is the son of Dasmariñas Mayor Jenny Barzaga.
“Di ko pakawala si Kiko. Isa syang tao na mahirap kontrolin kahit sinuman. I do not control Kiko Barzaga. He is his own person, he has his own principles and own free will,” Vice Pres. Duterte said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte revealed that she only met Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga during the campaign rally of the UniTeam in Cavite in 2022. According to her, only the Congressman was for his tandem with Pres. Bongbong Marcos as his parents were solely for her.
“Ang magulang nya ay hindi Uniteam, for Sara only sila. Si Kiko was for Uniteam,” Duterte said.
Amid him being vocal against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and calling for his resignation, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s ex-spokesman, Harry Roque, lauded Cavite Cong. Kiko Barzaga for speaking against the Marcos Jr. admin.
