Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga Leads Anti-Marcos Protest Outside Forbes Park Village

KIKO BARZAGA – The Cavite 4th District Representative and the protesters called for the resignation of President Bongbong Marcos.

The supposed multi-billion flood control corruption sparked several different calls from the public. Last September 21, thousands of Filipinos joined the “Trillion March Protest” and called for an end to corruption in the government.

Recently, a Cavite Representative, Kiko Barzaga, led another rally that focused on calling for the resignation of Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the flood control issue in the Philippines. The protest actions held outside the Forbes Park Village in Makati City.

Prior to the said anti-Marcos rally, Cong. Kiko Barzaga previously bared an alleged impeachment complaint against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. He accused the President of allegedly betraying the public’s trust amid the flood control scam in the country.

During the latest anti-Marcos rally, several protesters joined the action protest led by Cong. Kiko Barzaga. Based on a post of the Cavite Congressman, members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) were also deployed in the area.

At the rally, Cong. Barzaga was asked when the next protest action of their group will be held. According to him, the Marcos administration should first announce when they would allegedly steal money from the government. He stressed that they are protesting anytime.

Presidential cousin and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co who are both accused of alleged flood control corruption supposedly have residential properties inside the Forbes Park Village in Makati City. Countless Filipinos previously called on Marcos Jr. for the investigation of Romualdez and Co.

Leyte Cong. Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House speaker amid the allegations of flood control corruption against him. According to the presidential cousin, he wants the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI to be able to fully and freely implement their mandate to investigate.

Amid the issue against his cousin, Marcos Jr. previously claimed not even his cousin nor his allies will be spared from the flood control probe. Recently, Malacañang also spoke on the impeachment complaint against Pres. Marcos by Cong. Barzaga.
