Maricel Soriano and Belle Mariano worked together in this new movie
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano shared her reaction to the acting prowess of Kapamilya actress Belle Mariano.
Maricel and Belle were among the cast members of the movie Meet, Greet, & Bye. The Diamond Star has been in the entertainment industry for many decades already, and she has worked with a lot of younger artists throughout her career.
For Maricel’s most recent acting project, she worked with Belle, and in the recent media conference for this, based on the article in ABS-CBN. The veteran actress had nothing but good words about the young actress.
Maricel Soriano shared that Belle Mariano was so natural in showing emotions in front of the camera.
In the movie, Maricel played the matriarch of the Facundo family, and Belle gave life to the character of Geri Facundo, the only girl among the four siblings.
The story mainly focused on the mother’s suffering as a cancer patient and the lives of her family members amidst this situation.
Maricel shared that she felt the genuine expression that Belle showed. “Wala siyang kaba–– wala. Hindi ko nakita yun. Ang nakita ko ay yung mga mata niya, ang ganda ganda. At tsaka, talagang natural siyang umarte–– totoo ang arte niya, hindi siya umaarte. Totoo lahat ng pinapakita niya, genuine lahat,” the veteran actress said.
Then, the Diamond Star shared her advice for the younger actress. She said that Bell should continue giving her best in the projects that she will do in the future because she will surely go places. She also said to Belle, “Kailangan ka ng industriya.”
Recalling her first scene with the Diamond Star, Belle said that the older actress gave her advice on how to portray her character Geri effectively. For the young actress, this will go down in her memory.
“First scene ko with mama, parang medyo heavy yung scene tapos sabi niya sa akin, binigyan niya ako ng tip. Anak, ibuga mo lahat bago mo ibigay–– mas maramdaman mo. Siguro yun yung isa [sa mga] lessons na mababaon ko,” Belle recalled.
She also said that she would not be able to do what she did in this movie for not the guidance that Maricel Soriano gave to her.
Aside from Maricel and Belle, Meet, Greet, & Bye also featured Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, and Juan Karlos. This is directed by award-winning director Cathy Garcia Sampana.
