Several parts of Bacolod City were submerged because of hours of heavy rain.
After hours of nonstop rain, several areas in Bacolod City were submerged in floodwaters, with some parts reaching waist-deep levels.
Bacolod City is being developed to become a “Super City,” but before this could even happen, super flooding strikes the city again after hours of rain. Several were stranded, and a lot of areas suffered deep and powerful flooding.

Based on the update from PAGASA, a low pressure area was spotted west of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The southwesterly windflow is affecting the Visayas and Mindanao.
Here’s the situation in Bacolod as of this writing:
Rescue operations are currently underway in Purok Carvic, Barangay Mandalagan. In the video, the water current appears quite strong, with some areas already reaching knee-deep levels. Another clip shows rescuers braving the powerful floodwaters as they assist residents trapped in the affected area.
Lacson Street is also flooded, and residents are seen walking through the floodwater. Cars can still pass this part of the city.
The situation on Lacson Street going to Buri Road is also flooded. The recording was taken in front of the City Mall Mandalagan.
This area in Bangga Cory, leading to Barangay Mansilingan, is also submerged. Despite the heavy rain and rising floodwaters, motorists continue to push through and drive along the flooded road.
Several people online from Bacolod claimed that there have been a lot of people stranded because of the flooding caused by the non-stop rain. This is not the first time this has happened in the city. In previous incidents, hundreds of people were evacuated to various evacuation centers and displaced.
