PAGASA Says ITCZ and Northeasterly Windflow to Affect PH Weather

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the ITCZ and the Northeasterly Windflow will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (October 8, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ and the northeasterly wind flow will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin De La Cruz reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan, while the Northeasterly Windflow will affect the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan.

The northeasterly wind will bring similar weather conditions over Quezon and Camarines Norte provinces.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Aurora.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression is still being monitored outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last spotted 1,985 kilometers east of Luzon.

It packs maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph. Its movement was northwestward at 15 kph.

It will slightly or somewhat graze our area of responsibility. We are also not ruling out that it may enter our PAR briefly or momentarily and then move away again,” De La Cruz said.

The tropical depression will not directly affect the country’s weather conditions.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The coastal water conditions across the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA
