DOE to Implement Oil Price Hike This Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Various gasoline stations in the country are set to impose another oil price hike this week.
Motorists should brace for another round of fuel price increases this week as oil companies announced new adjustments that will take effect on Tuesday (October 7, 2025). The latest hike marks the seventh consecutive week that diesel and kerosene prices have gone up.
Starting at 6 a.m., major oil firms such as Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, Caltex, and Petro Gazz will increase the price of diesel by P0.80 per liter, and both gasoline and kerosene by P0.20 per liter. Cleanfuel will implement the same adjustments later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m.

The Department of Energy explained that the increase was driven by several global factors affecting oil supply and prices.
Among these are the renewed sanctions of the United States on Iran, Russia’s export restrictions, and the recent decision of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) to slightly raise oil production by 137,000 barrels per day starting November.
Experts also pointed out that refinery maintenance in some regions, higher fuel demand during the harvest season, and the weaker peso against the US dollar have contributed to the price jump. These factors continue to add pressure to the already unstable global oil market.

Last week, oil firms rolled back gasoline prices by P0.20 per liter but raised diesel and kerosene by P0.90 per liter. With the upcoming adjustments, total net increases for the year have reached P14.70 per liter for gasoline, P17.05 for diesel, and P5.45 for kerosene, based on the Department of Energy’s latest monitoring.
